chapter 6-8 of far north

Summary of 6-8:
In chapter 6 of Far North, Clint and Gabe were on the plane again to start their sight seeing rout on the way to Nahanni Butte. They pass over several beautiful mountain ranges and then they fly over Virginia Falls and they decide to touch down for a closer look. In chapter 7 they find that the plane wont start and is quickly getting washed toward the drop down the falls. They try to push it to shore but its to heavy so they get out and swim to land themselves. They salvage as many supplies as possible before the plane goes over but then they realize that they really needed 2 items that were left on the plane so Clint tries to go get them and its able to toss Gabe the item before he is washed over the drop with the plane. After that Gabe goes looking for Clint to see if he survived the fall while they try to keep warm also. In chapter 8 Gabe comes back to where the old man had started a fire. They talk for a while discussing how long it will take for someone to find them, what to do until then to survive, and some other random things before going to sleep for the night.

Answer to prompt 14- my thoughts for the characters
In my opinion Gabe's character seems like he has a brave, friendly personality. He sounds like he likes to explore the outdoors and stuff like that. Clint's character seems like he enjoys laughing and joking about things. His character is very courageous and seems to care about his friends especially in the part where he went back onto the plane to get the things for them and their survival when he could have let one of them do it. The old man"s character seems kind of mysterious but also very wise.My favorite character so far is Raymond. I think Raymond is a good character because for one he's unique. He seemed like he has a chill attitude and a real personality. Those are things I can respect in a person.

So far I don't have a character I dislike because they're all pretty good people by the way the story describes them. But one thing I thought wasn't cool of them was when they didn't do more to help save Clint. I don't think any of the characters really represent anyone in particular that I know of. Raymond does kind of reminds me of my sister in some ways though like the fact that they both like electric guitar and don't like math, etc. Something that I think would change my opinion about some of the characters would be if their was a twist in their personality. Something like if one of the characters wasn't who they seemed at first. If someone who seemed like they were mean was really a nice person just going through something.

Chapter 2-5 of far north

Chapter 2 was about when Gabe goes to boarding school. He also met his roommate Raymond in that chapter. After that his father got an off day and took Gabe shopping for clothes better fit for whether in Canada and he also offered to go bush flying with him sometime in chapter 3. In chapter 4 his roommate, Raymond gets homesick and Gabe and him go to a hockey rink to cheer him up. He also gets a phone call from Clint (the bush pilot) telling him to come to the float flying dock if  Gabe wanted to do some sight seeing. So when he goes in chapter 4 to the dock he is told that they have to take an older man and a kid back to their home and he finds out in chapter 5 that the kid they're supposed to take is Raymond who had dropped out of school without telling Gabe. Later on in chapter 5 they start their flight and have to touch down at Simpson Fort because the daylight was almost gone. Clint and Gabe planned a special rout for their sight seeing day together.

These chapters were mostly clear but some scenes confused me. One scene I didn't grasp was in chapter 3. It was the part about where Gabe and his father were talking after picking up some clothes. Gabe asked his father if he ever flew with Clint and Gabe didnt know him but his father said he didnt know him. I was a little confused because at the beginning in chapter Clint said "Gabe Rogers?" and Gabe said back "Clint? You're the bush pilot?" So do they know each other or not. It just seemed like they did but I guess not, I wasn't sure.

Another thing I didnt understand was in chapter 2. The part where it said "Raymond Providence was thinking about it, thinking about me. My roommate was wondering if I'd made a mistake." What mistake? Something I think the author could have done different to make it more clear is specify who is talking more often. Another thing that might help would be to explain a little more into some parts that might require it.
